Sali Hughes visits Dr Motox Clinic at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, London, for microneedling with Medik8 EXO-PDRN Prismatic+ Pro Concentrate. She shared her experience in two Instagram reels, documenting her first session and a return visit for her second treatment.
Her reels follow her treatment experience and the changes she noticed in her skin.
What Sali shared about her first microneedling session
In her reel posted on 4 June 2026, Sali explained that she was trying microneedling for the first time. She described starting with a mild needle depth and being pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the treatment.
She also described noticing a change in how her skin looked and felt, writing: “My skin looks and feels glowier and more snatched.” She said she was pleased and intended to return.
The post identifies Medik8 EXO-PDRN Prismatic+ Pro Concentrate as the treatment booster used alongside microneedling. You can watch Sali’s first reel to see the experience she chose to share.
Returning to Dr Motox Clinic for a second treatment
In her second reel, posted on 8 September 2026, Sali confirmed that she had returned to Dr Motox Clinic at Harvey Nichols for another microneedling session with the same Medik8 professional concentrate.
Her caption again described a positive experience, reporting brighter-looking skin, minimal redness and no irritation in her own case. Watch her second reel for her account of the return visit.
Your consultation includes a personalised treatment plan and advice on what to expect during recovery.
What microneedling does for the skin
Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled punctures in the skin. These stimulate a repair response, including collagen production. Collagen is one of the structural proteins that helps give skin its support.
Depending on the concern and treatment plan, microneedling may improve the appearance of uneven texture, fine lines and some acne scars. The aim is gradual improvement in skin quality. It does not reproduce the volume changes of dermal filler or the effects of surgery.
Early radiance and longer-term collagen changes happen on different timescales. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that improvements may become apparent over several weeks, with fuller results taking months. A course may be appropriate, followed by review.

The Medik8 EXO-PDRN treatment Sali had
Sali’s posts name EXO-PDRN Prismatic+ Pro Concentrate, Medik8’s professional treatment booster. Medik8 describes its formula as combining prismatic PDRN, a triple exosome complex and Dual MiniProteins, designed to support the skin’s recovery response alongside professional treatments.
The professional concentrate is distinct from Medik8’s everyday EXO-PDRN Prismatic+ retail serum. The treatment plan should specify which formulation is being used and how it fits the procedure.
At your appointment, we explain how the professional concentrate fits into your personalised microneedling treatment.
What to expect at your appointment
We begin by discussing your concerns, current skincare, medical history and previous procedures. The assessment helps establish whether microneedling is suitable and which areas to treat.
Needle depth and treatment intensity should reflect the area, skin condition and intended outcome. Sali’s decision to start gently illustrates why a first session does not need to follow someone else’s settings.
Topical numbing may be used to improve comfort. You may still feel pressure, vibration or prickling, and some areas can feel more sensitive than others. We explain the proposed procedure and aftercare before you decide whether to proceed.
Recovery and aftercare
Redness, tenderness, swelling and some flaking can follow microneedling. The amount and duration depend on the treatment and your skin. Allow recovery time before important events rather than assuming that another person’s minimal redness will also apply to you.
Follow the clinic’s instructions on cleansing, moisturising, sun protection and when to restart makeup, retinoids and exfoliating acids. Keep the routine gentle while skin recovers and avoid introducing several new active products at once.
Once skin is intact and your practitioner agrees, the Dr Motox Exosome Collagen Face & Neck Sheet Mask can be considered as a hydration step. It is suitable across dry, oily and sensitive skin types; patch test first and avoid broken, infected or actively inflamed skin.
Risks include infection, pigment changes and scarring. Contact the clinic if symptoms worsen or you develop increasing pain, spreading redness or discharge.

Who should have an assessment before treatment
Tell us about active breakouts, cold sores, eczema, recent sun exposure, medication and any history of unusual scarring or poor healing. Treatment may need to be postponed or an alternative recommended. Dr Motox Clinic does not perform microneedling while a patient is taking Roaccutane or during pregnancy.
We recommend the number of sessions and time between appointments after assessing your skin and treatment goals.
